Located within the exclusive Bay Colony Beach community in Naples, Florida, this extraordinary coastal estate is a showcase of architectural precision, refined textures, and sophisticated outdoor living. Beacon Outdoor Lighting was brought into the project from multiple design partners — OPI, Vanita  Laurito Designs, and CGU Homes — to provide a lighting system that would highlight the home’s architecture, accentuate its lush landscaping, and deliver a dramatic nighttime experience from every vantage point.

After several design meetings with the homeowner, the objective became clear: the lighting needed to be bold, elegant, and intentional — illuminating the home from approach to oceanfront, while balancing drama with refinement.

Project Goals

Primary Design Objectives:

• Architectural Focus: Fully illuminate the home’s diverse façade using wall washing and eave lighting for even, texture-balanced illumination.
• Dramatic Curb Appeal: Create a striking visual effect as guests approach the property — blending light, architecture, and water.
• Functional Integration: Ensure safe navigation throughout the property using indicator and path lighting without interrupting visual harmony.
• Aquatic and Fire Elements: Incorporate underwater and ambient lighting to bring reflection and warmth to water and fire features.
• Custom Color Control: Provide RGBW lighting to offer dynamic seasonal effects and personalized ambiance.

Lighting Design & Implementation

1. Architectural Illumination

• The entire front façade of the home is washed in even, balanced light using a combination of architectural wall-wash fixtures and concealed eave lights.
• Multiple materials — including stone veneers and smooth stucco finishes — required adjustable optics to achieve consistent reflection and tone.
• Beacon’s design-first approach ensured that every surface glows evenly, accentuating the architectural layers and symmetry of the structure.

2. Aquatic Lighting

• Aquatic lighting was strategically placed within the front water features, casting subtle reflections across the architecture.
• The dancing light effect brings motion and life to the façade, adding another layer of drama as guests arrive.

3. Landscape & Canopy Lighting

• Mature Sylvester palms, Japanese blueberries, and mid-story trees were illuminated from multiple angles to create a dynamic interplay of shadow and texture.
• The design ensures that light softly filters through canopies, enhancing vertical depth and drawing the eye toward the home’s entry sequence.
• The result is a perfectly choreographed visual composition of light, texture, and movement.

4. Functional & Indicator Lighting

• Discreet indicator lights were placed throughout the front property to assist homeowners and guests in navigating walkways and driveways with ease.
• Every fixture was selected to blend seamlessly into the hardscape, providing guidance without visual distraction.

5. Lanai & Rear Elevation Lighting

• The rear lanai space is one of the most breathtaking elements of the project — a combination of architectural and landscape lighting that creates a dramatic yet relaxing outdoor retreat.
• Fixtures were aimed to softly illuminate canopy trees, outdoor seating areas, and the architectural columns framing the lanai.
• This balanced approach allows the space to feel warm and inviting without overpowering the subtle coastal atmosphere.

6. Pool Deck, Fireplace & Putting Green Lighting

• Behind the pool, Beacon integrated LED strip lighting beneath the stair treads and along the perimeter of the recessed fireplace, ensuring full illumination even when the fire feature is off.
• The small putting green beyond the pool incorporates RGBW catch basin lighting that the homeowner can control via automation — changing colors to match seasonal moods or events.
• A unique programming feature was created for Masters Week, where the lights automatically shift to a rich green hue — a personalized touch that connects design with lifestyle.
